Ade retrieved the wheels out of the Furness<br \/>\nRailway Trust\u2019s shed at Preston through some neat manoeuvring with the fork<br \/>\nlift truck.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3313\" src=\"https:\/\/furnessrailway.co.uk\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240424_095731A-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Neatly loaded on to the wagon next to Stewart Waugh's wheelsets\" width=\"660\" height=\"880\" srcset=\"https:\/\/furnessrailway.co.uk\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240424_095731A-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/furnessrailway.co.uk\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240424_095731A-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/>The wheelset was then hoisted aboard the lorry which was handily equipped<br \/>\nwith a hi-ab lift. The lorry also returned two springs to the ELR and picked up<br \/>\ntwo wheelsets belonging to FRT member Stewart Waugh which were also<br \/>\ngoing for re-profiling of the tyres.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3314\" src=\"https:\/\/furnessrailway.co.uk\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240424_104231A-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Sam fits the new battery to GER No. 5\" width=\"660\" height=\"880\" srcset=\"https:\/\/furnessrailway.co.uk\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240424_104231A-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/furnessrailway.co.uk\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240424_104231A-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/>Great Eastern Railway royal saloon No. 5 is due back in service on the RSR<br \/>\nthis next Sunday for the serving of cream teas.
